I wanted to remind everyone that possession of fireworks is a Class 2 misdemeanor which carries a maximum penalty of 60 days in jail and $1,000 fine. On July 4th, local fireworks displays will be at the Southport waterfront at 9:00 p.m. and Ocean Isle Beach pier at 9:15 p.m.
Please drive carefully and enjoy a safe holiday weekend.
