A State of Emergency has been issued for the Town of Holden Beach.

Current conditions include winds gusting to 36 MPH, sustained at 30 MPH. The wind is out of the northeast. There has been one inch of rain. It appears conditions will be deteriorating throughout the afternoon. High tide will be at approximately 11:30 a.m. The ocean is increasing and we expect the surge to at least reach our dunes.  Canals and waterway are normal at this time.

The bridge remains open, but remember it will close if the winds reach 45 MPH sustained. All utilities are operational, subject to change as conditions may vary.
