{"id":12398,"date":"2023-10-25T14:36:00","date_gmt":"2023-10-25T18:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/holden.me\/?p=12398"},"modified":"2023-11-17T14:37:08","modified_gmt":"2023-11-17T19:37:08","slug":"town-newsletter-october-23-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/holden.me\/2023\/10\/25\/town-newsletter-october-23-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Town Newsletter: October 23, 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>More Great News!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations to the Town staff on the submittal of another \u201con time, clean\u201d independent auditor\u2019s report to the NC Local Government Commission.&nbsp;I am especially pleased to report that the Town&#8217;s total net position&nbsp;<strong>increased by over 3.8 million dollars<\/strong>&nbsp;with the total combined governmental fund balances (excluding our award winning FEMA project) cumulatively increasing from last year\u2019s already strong financial position by&nbsp;<strong>1.8 million dollars<\/strong>. &nbsp;&nbsp;The General Fund Ratio; which is a prime indicator of the Town\u2019s financial condition stands at 151% &#8211; the highest it has ever been!&nbsp;Of the governmental funds, the BPART Fund&#8217;s share of this increase was $1,453,131, nearly double the current year\u2019s budgeted appropriated fund balance. The Water\/Sewer Proprietary Fund is also in great shape as overall cash and cash equivalents increased by $176,048.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These results prove the Town\u2019s outstanding stewardship, excellent financial position and will go a long way toward meeting the challenges of the future.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t forget the Festival By the Sea is this Saturday and Sunday under the Holden Beach Bridge!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More Great News!
