Waste Management Update

Yard Debris: Pick-up is provided twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of April & May.

Yard debris needs to be secured in a biodegradable bag or bundled in a maximum length of 5′ and 50 pounds in weight. A total of ten items (bundled of brush/ limbs, bags) will be picked up by Waste Industries. Yard debris must be placed at the street for pick-up. No pick-ups will be made on vacant lots.

Solid Waste Collection: Solid waste is currently being collected on Tuesdays, Beginning June 2nd, solid waste will be collected on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Still don’t know what to do with your trash?

Free Dump Week: Brunswick County residents may bring items, except for household trash and land clearing debris, to the landfill in Bolivia free of charge April 16th – 21st. Commercial vehicles will be charged normal tipping fees. You must show proof of Brunswick County residency. Hours of operations are Monday – Saturday 8AM – 4PM.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection: The Brunswick County Solid Waste Department will be at Shallotte Middle School from 9AM – 2PM on April 21st to collect household hazardous waste. Items will be taken free of charge from County residents.

Electronics are not included in the household hazardous waste collection. They are recycled year round at the landfill. There is no charge for this service.
