Board of Commissioners October 17, 223 Meeting Recap
A regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners was held on October 17, 2023. The following actions were taken:
- Fran Way from ATM presented information on the Annual Beach Monitoring Report. Click here to view his slideshow. Mr. Way explained the Town’s beach nourishment program has been great. The shoreline is much wider and healthier than it was 20 years ago.
- Chief Dixon reviewed the Police Report.
- Inspections Director Evans gave the Inspections Department monthly report.
- Inspections Director Evans and Assistant Town Manager Ferguson provided information and answered questions on ADA related items, to include the Avenue E site plan, the 801 Ocean Boulevard West site plan and bathrooms. The Board approved the conceptual designs and tasked staff to evaluate if any further adjustments are needed for the bathroom roof. An associated budget amendment was also approved.
- The Board approved an amendment to the contract between the Town and Southern Disaster Recovery. The amendment adds the removal of eligible hazardous trees less than six inches in diameter to the current contract.
- The Board requested that staff look into creating regulations for removing sand from the beach.
- A revision to the Town’s Personnel Policy was approved by the Board. The revision changed the way vacation leave is accumulated.
