Town Newsletter: January 10, 2024
- Last night’s storm did not do as much damage as was anticipated.
- We did have high winds, some rain, high tide and some wash on the oceanfront.
- We had over 1,000 tires wash up on our beachfront which will be removed beginning tomorrow by North Carolina Marine Fisheries at no expense to the Town.
- The extreme west end of Holden Beach beyond the 1200 block suffered some erosion and some walkway and step losses.
- The areas west of Holden Beach down towards Myrtle Beach and Charleston had more severe weather as did the area east of the Cape Fear River.
- There is concern about the weather front coming this weekend. We will monitor it and communicate as necessary.
