Winter Weather Advisory

Brrrr!

This coming week will see the coldest weather of the year with the forecast low Wednesday morning in the mid-twenties.  By the weekend we’ll be seeing temps in the low to mid-twenties with highs in the upper thirties. Please be mindful of the “freezing and burst” risk to exposed water lines and fixtures. If you see or experience issues requiring assistance call (910) 253-7490 (non-emergency dispatch) to report.

Elevated structures like the bridge will freeze quickly when temperatures drop. There is precipitation expected but it is unknown at this time to what extent it will impact travel. The Holden Beach Public Works Department will coordinate with NCDOT to ensure the bridge remains passable.

Additionally- Please don’t forget about your pets. Just because they have a fur coat doesn’t mean they won’t be endangered if left outside.

Stay Warm!

-J. Alan Holden
