Town Newsletter: September 22, 2023

From the Mayor’s Desk

I expect Holden Beach will be experiencing winds less than 50 MPH beginning late morning today through tomorrow.

The tides may be a little higher than normal but are not expected to be severe.

Please secure trash cans, furniture or other items that may be subject to this current weather event. I suggest attaching extra ropes to boats.

Rain could be as much as four inches today through tomorrow, Saturday.

Be careful on the Town streets as some areas may have several inches of water in the lower places.

The utility services should not be threatened.

The bridge is expected to remain open. However, it will close during times of 45 MPH sustained wind speed.

I expect this storm to come ashore north of Holden Beach, leaving Holden Beach on the west side of it. This is the best place to be!

I will send another email later today if there are any changes.
